DRESS CODE

Students’ dress must always be conservative, modest, and reflect a genuine commitment to Christ. The administrator has the responsibility of determining the appropriateness or inappropriateness of any item of the dress code.

 

Young Ladies’ Daily Attire:

Skirts/Dresses: Skirts and Dresses must be neat, conservative, loose fitting, and cover the knee when sitting. Slits may be no higher than the knee when sitting. Denim is not  permitted. Tights or leggings may be worn under knee-length skirts or dresses.

 

Slacks: Slacks must be neat, conservative, loose fitting, and professional in appearance.                                     Exclusions: Denim, blue jeans, sweatpants, joggers, athletic pants, leggings and yoga pants.

 

Shirts: A shirt with a collar, rounded or oval neck, short or long sleeves, may be worn. Blouses, sweaters, and dresses must have a modest neckline and fit properly (not tight). They may be any color, but they are to be loose fitting. T-shirts are not permitted for daily wear (casual Friday is an exception).

 

Sweaters: Crew Neck, V-neck, cardigan, or fleece may be worn over the shirt or blouse.

 

Footwear: Casual dress, athletic shoes, dress shoes, or sandals with a back strap are to be worn at all times.

 

Hair: Hair must be fixed neatly.  Extreme colors and styles are not permitted. 

 

Jewelry, Accessories, and Makeup: These must be in good taste; not gaudy, punk, gothic or otherwise incompatible with the philosophy of the school. (Makeup may be worn in moderation beginning in 7th grade)

 

PE Uniform 7th -12th grade: T-shirts and knee length shorts, wind pants, or sweatpants. They may be any color, but they are to be loose fitting.

 

Young Men’s Daily Attire:

Slacks: Dress slacks or Dockers-style cotton twill pants should be worn with a simple, solid colored belt.

 

Shirts: A shirt with a collar and either short or long sleeves should be worn. These may be polo, oxford or any type as long as they have a fold over collar. Shirts are to be tucked in unless designed to be worn untucked. They may be any color, but they are to be loose fitting.

 

Sweaters: Crew neck, V-neck, cardigan, or fleece may be worn over the collared shirt.

 

Footwear: Full, casual dress, athletic shoes, nice boots, or dress shoes must be worn with socks. 

 

Hair: Hairstyles must be conservative and only slightly over the ear, kept off the collar and eyebrows.  Hair is to be combed and neat at all times.  Extreme colors and styles are not permitted.  Faces must be clean shaven. Beards, goatees, and mustaches are not permitted. Sideburns must not be lower than the bottom of the ear.

 

Hats: Hats and other headgear may not be worn in classes.

 

Jewelry: The only jewelry that is permitted is a watch, ring, bands, or necklace.

 

PE Uniform 7th – 12th grade: T-shirts and knee length shorts, wind pants, or sweatpants. They may be any color, but they are to be loose fitting.

 

CASUAL FRIDAY DRESS CODE (neat and modest)

Denim (NO holes, no patches)

Knee-length shorts

T-shirts (appropriate if words or pictures) i.e. No rock stars

Shoulders covered (not tank tops, spaghetti straps or low scoop neck)

Leggings, yoga pants and athletic shorts are NOT acceptable

Backless shoes are still not allowed as they are a safety hazard (i.e. flip flops, sandals without a back strap, etc.)

 

1st offense – may not participate the following Friday

2nd offense – may not participate for the next 4 Fridays

3rd offense – may not participate for the rest of the semester (or 4 weeks whichever is longer)
