Children may not attend with the following conditions:

  • Oral temperature above 100 degrees, vomiting or diarrhea (should be free of these symptoms 24 hours before returning to school).
  • Persistant earache
  • Running ear
  • Coughing
  • Sore throat
  • Symptoms related to communicable diseases (skin rashes, redness of eyes, swollen glands, etc.)

Should your child become ill during the day, the office will call a parent to make immediate arrangements for the child to be picked up.

The childcare center reserves the right to request the child be taken to a doctor if a contagious condition is suspected.

Please notify the center when your child is ill. We are concerned about your child and desire to be kept informed about his/her physical well-being.

All medication (prescription or over the counter) must be transported to and from school by an adult. Please complete a Medication Form in the office. Please do not leave medicine in a child’s cubby. All medicines given must be in original pharmacist’s containers and have the doctor’s instructions, prescription number, child’s name, date filled, and directions for use. Over-the-counter medication may be given 3 days without a prescription. If over-the-counter medication needs to be given longer, a prescription is needed. The prescription may be faxed (417-831-6231). Over-the-counter medication will not be given in excess of the amounts indicated on the medicine container.
